What will be the big phone to get this year?

image Now when I say big phone, I don’t mean whom will offer the biggest screen size (honestly, I think we’re getting to a point where we should carry just a tablet with a bluetooth handset to answer calls)

But lets move on, this year we started off with the Sony Xperia Z (granted one of the only flagship with water resistance built in without the rugged look), then you have the new revamp of Blackberry with the Z10 (loads of potential but will there be traction; let alone the States get this phone much later)

Moving on we have the rumored HTC “M7” or “The One” which I hope will make HTC a viable #2 player in the Android ecosystem. Next is the Samsung Galaxy S4 and I’m sure the Note 3 will be not that far off. But the dark-horse is not just another year with another Nexus device from Google but probably the Motorola X Phone (the phone that is suppose to be co-developed by Google and Motorola to be the “Hero” device) Kind of a the way to finally pit THE ANDROID phone against THE iPHONE.

Then of course, we should see another evolution to the iPhone from Apple; there are too rumors of 2 siblings, the “cheaper one” (which I feel would be viable option for the no-contract carriers and the “big brother” model (possibly the one to reach the S3’s screen size)

To pick just one device year is going to a tough one and I didn’t really mention a Windows Phone because even though they’re gone through two stages in their existence, they have a lot to build on and there really is no hero device since every phone has the same experience minus the exclusive apps on Nokia Phones.

So is there really the #1 phone to get this year? Tough to say but we have to be patient and wait to see what will be brought to the table and when these devices are in the hands of the consumers. But I must say, the real story to keep an eye on is, can there really be a solid 3rd platform or is this going to be an endless 2 horse race?

Samsung Galaxy Camera hands-on (by cnetuk)

I really love this concept and I hope the picture quality comes out the way most high-mid-range point n’ shoot cameras perform.

With the specs of Jelly Bean with 3G/4G connectivity, this could basically be your phone as well (that is, if you don’t mind the chunky body)

Honestly, I want to keep a close eye on this as we move from taking really good pics from our Smartphones to actual point n’ shoots that are eventually going to get smarter!

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 review (by TheVerge)

This is where something like this should be the next “NEXUS” tablet because of the simple feature that would make it more distinctive than any other tablet out there… not just the Wacom stylus but the dual-view for multi-tasking!

This tablet so far, looks like it needs some more tweaks and maybe most of all, Jelly Bean!
